Statistics show that emergencies, fires, and break-ins can happen to anybody. A home security system can help keep you, your family and your home safe. Home security systems come with different levels of protection and with systems that are both external, internal, or both, depending on the security needs of your home. Basic home security systems typically include one or more control panels to place at different entrances to your home, intrusion detectors, and a siren or bell that is used as a warning device. Beyond these basics, a home security system can also include motion sensors, smoke or fire detection alarms, carbon monoxide detection alarms, panic alarms and first aid emergency alerts in case of other medical emergencies.
Security System Options
Home security systems may be installed as a local system, meaning they offer only audible warning sirens intended to frighten intruders away and to alert occupants and neighbors; or, as a central system, which is monitored by a central station that alerts the local authorities when they receive an alarm from your home.
You may want to research a few different systems before purchasing and installing a home security system. This way you will be most able to find the system that will best be able to protect you and your home and family.

Signs of Termite Infestations
The first sign of termite damage that you might be able to notice are any pencil-wide, tubes on the foundation walls or windowsills of your home. These are shelter tubes, and this is a good indicator of termite infestation. Second, if you see any termites, or their shed wings, on windowsills or along the edges of floors, this means that there are probably more hidden in floorboards or foundation walls. Finally, if you notice any signs of wood damage such as hollowed out wood along the grain, or wood that is lined with bits of mud and soil. Wood damage is not usually found initially, but it definitely indicates termite infestation. Wood that yields a dull, thudding sound when struck by a screwdriver or hammer, should be more thoroughly examined.
Contact Someone Who Can Help Control Your Termite Problem
If you notice any of these signs you should contact a pest control firm immediately and have them send someone to do a more thorough termite inspection of your home. Most pest control firms will perform termite inspections free of charge, and this way you can be alerted to any further conditions that would indicate a termite infestation, and have it properly treated before it gets worse.
